Do You Want To Live Forever?

Scott at wrevenue.com posted a blogging challenge this week to get people to ponder living well indefinitely. There are some thought provoking points raised on the blog post.

Do you want to live forever?

With what we know today about health we can get to a point where we live longer and where we have the ability to live more vibrant lives. Your body has a built in alarm system that tells you when something isn't quite right. You know what it takes to live longer and healthier. While we know that many people who are diseased simply grow weary and are tired of fighting, we also know that the power of positive thinking and faith has a significant impact on our health. I recently watched a video with Dr Edward Group lecturing about cellular cleansing and it made a big impact on how I think about my own health and wellness.

With areas such as cord blood storage, stem cell research and other health advances I do believe that we can live longer, healthier lives and there may come a point where people can choose to live a lot longer than the average 80 years with enhanced vibrancy in their lives. Healthy living is a choice and can reward you with a longer life. It brings to mind the movie, Cocoon. The idea of being old but enjoying life the same as today is something that appeals to me! I would love to roll on the floor and do somersaults with my grandchildren instead of being brittle and achy and reliant on a large mittful of pills to keep me alive each day. Vibrancy and being able to be flexible and pain free is something that you can have a say in by taking care of your own health.

How can you change your health for the better?

-Eat well. You know what you should and shouldn't eat.
-Exercise. Exercise is addictive and releases natural endorphins so those who exercise are happier AND healthier
-See the doctor when your body tells you something is 'off.'
-Ask for second opinions. Too many people give one single doctor a God complex by not questioning them.
-Support research on longevity and anti-aging!. When you tithe, tithe a little to the medical community and support companies who give to this type of cause. Don't deal with companies that don't support your way of thinking and soon the world will have more responsible corporate citizens.
-Most importantly: Learn. learn about your health and advances and support increased knowledge and research into fighting medical diseases and age related disorders.
Keeping your brain active will also help keep you young. Thanks to Scott at wrevenue.com for an inspiring post and blog challenge!

Quitting smoking is also very important to help people stay healthy. Your health will have been improving from the minute you quit and will continue to do so. For many people their long term health outlook will be as good as they would have expected had they never smoked at all.

Rather than having another test to prove something you will be better working at goals to improve your overall health on a daily basis with good lifestyle choices, good nutrition and sufficient exercise to maintain that good health into old age.

Quitting smoking was one of the hardest things I have ever done but was the single best decision I have ever made about my health!

I have been reading a lot of information that states that the 40 something generation will be as healthy at 80 as their parents were at 60.

And, our children will live to 100 and be as active as we were at 80.

This is good for me as my grandfather was still farming at 80 :)
