Should You Random Drug Test Your Teen?

Parenting is the toughest gig in the world and today kids seem to be growing up ultra fast. How do parents ensure that their kids are healthy and safe? Health starts at home and awareness is something we can share with our kids about what they eat and drink and fill their lives with. A healthy foundation can go a long way in life.

In terms of drugs and teenagers, it's important to let your child know that you won't be an ostrich and stick your head in the sand where they're concerned. Communicate with your kids and know who their friends are. Give them the tools to make decisions instead of simply following the crowd and succumbing to peer pressure.

If necessary, tell your teens that if they are caught with drugs even once, they'll be subjected to random drug testing with consequences if results indicate drug use.
